Mould - Making

In the mould making department we realize moulds, and carry on ordinary maintenance and develop additional modifies. We work with 3-axis milling machines, lathes, EDM & EDW machines and grinding machines. We use technology machines of recent installation, subject to periodic and accurate maintenance.

Our moulds park consists of about 300 units, part of which belongs to the company and part of which to our clients. We have developed single and multi-cavity moulds, with cold sprue and hot runner. The maintenance of such moulds is at our charge and care.

Fast Prototyping

We have recently installed a 3D rapid prototyping Stratasys printer to improve our R&D and to reduce the risks of realizing inadequate moulds. This machine sections a 3D design in layer of 1/100 of inch width and subsequently realizes a prototype deposing an ABS wire over a rigid support.

The prototyping facility make possible to realize a sample of dimension extremely close to that of the future injection molded object. Many of our clients make use of this service that simplifies and accelerate the engineering process.

Injection Molding Departement

We have 9 injection moulding machines (Arburg, Boy and BMB machines) for technopolymers transformation. 8 of them have a clamping force 250 kN and 1300 kN, and can realize articles of mass between 1g and 250g. We have a BMB injection molding machine (clamping force 2500 kN), specifically designed for the realization of long objects with small cross section (pipes, cones, tanks).

All machines are equipped with dryers and, if necessary for the production process, we have mold-temperature control units, pneumatic robots and conveyors.

All our injection moulding machines are of recent installation and are subject to periodic and accurate maintenance.

Moreover, with the new software installed on machinery, we can reach a first quality control during the moulding process, by analyzing the constancy of parameters such as temperature, dosing and injection time, injection pressures and CUSCINO.

Injection Molding Processes

We continually work with several polymers: PE-LD, P-EVA, PVC, TPU, TPV, PS, ABS, ABS G.F., ABS V0, ABS/PC, PC, PA 6 & PA 6 G.F., PA 66 & PA 66 G.F., PPS, PEEK and PVDF.

We have many semi-automatic production processes requiring the intervention of an operator to position in mould cavity threaded fasteners, inox inserts (pipes, rods…) and metal inserts to realize undercut profiles or to complete the manufacturing of the product.

In this last years we developed with our clients several co-moulded products. This technology consists in moulding a soft/hard polymer surface over a more rigid moulded part.

Post-Molding Processing and Custom Moulding

Motta Stampi S.r.l. realizes several post-moulding processes including hot pad printing, ultrasonic welding, water absorption conditioning and parts assembly: in this last fundamental step of the production process, we assembly several details of our own production with other parts like springs and micro-switches to complete the realization of our items.

Along with the development and realization of our own articles, we have been working for several years on custom moulding in the sector of food (cold drink and coffee vending machines), gate automation, lift trucks and house chandeliers. We make use of all our technologies in each of these fields.
